TIMELESS OVER TRENDY—
When it comes to designing or renovating your bathroom space, timeless design is a desire for many to acquire when selecting their style. The bathroom is a particular space in the home that is important to keep timeless and sophisticated for years to come. To us, timeless design over trendy design is a wise homeowner decision to make in the design process or remodel process. Creating a bathroom space that will be classic for years down the line is an investment for both yourself and potential future buyers of your home. There is a wide array of tile to choose from depending on style and location of the install. We wanted to touch on on three different tile styles that we believe are timeless and true to add to your bathroom space or really any area of the home.
MIX MATERIALS

Tone and texture—combining these two elements, when done right, can create your dream shower oasis. The key to combining materials is to choose your color palette correctly. The color scheme that you add will either create a chaotic atmosphere or one of harmony, so be extra careful what combinations you form. When bringing together tone and texture, be aware of the patterns that are colliding, ask yourself, do they mix well? Adding a natural texture and neutral color to the blend is typically a great idea when mixing multiple patterns into one particular space, as seen here in this shower. Design is about using various tones and textures, colors and patterns to create a complement among the elements. The goal is to create a beautiful blend. Design is at it’s best when the materials and elements complement, instead of compete for the spotlight.
SUBWAY TILE

Sleek and sophisticated—subway tile made its first debut in New York City along the subway stations. This tile is a staple style that is here to stay in home design. The classic subway tile pattern somehow never loses it’s spark with home design lovers. For over a hundred years, this pattern has filled many homes from the kitchen to the bathroom. It is simply stunning and complements every home style from traditional to modern, it mixes well and harmonizes spaces because of the simplicity it adds. The subway tile pattern is beautifully seen in the shower spaces and along the walls, but the one place to keep in mind that is not ideal is the floor because of the fragility of the material.
HERRINGBONE TILE PATTERN

Captivating and charming—the herringbone pattern has a way of alluring the eye. Subway tile can be too simplistic for some, so here is an idea for those of you who want to spice your design up. Design your subway tile in this pattern, a spin on the classic subway tile pattern is the herringbone pattern. This tile pattern is commonly mistaken for the chevron style but they are entirely two separate styles. The herringbone style is connected to more of a traditional look, where the zig-zags create a V-shape. Timeless design does not equate to boring or basic design, timeless design can be intricate and unique, just as the herringbone pattern is. This pattern in particular is alluring to the eye when seen across the bathroom floor and gives a “WOW” factor to the subtle, simplicity of the subway style seen in many bathrooms.
In the world of home design, we believe that those three tile styles will remain timeless and true.
